I believe in keeping things simple ... and this is why I charge a simple, flat fee for most of my work.
Rather than paying a sitting fee PLUS additional costs for your prints, I charge by the hour and then give you a copy of your edited photos and a release to print them at your leisure.
We are in a new technology age where each of us are able to push a button and order strikingly beautiful prints - without me doubling or tripling the original cost. In most cases, you can pretty much order the prints, canvas prints, photo books and enlargements by yourself. Therefore, what you are paying for with me is my ability to capture you, your family, or your event in a way that is flattering, professional and creative. With your high-quality prints, your possibilities are endless.
I ditched the studio in 2010 and now work solely on location or in my clients home. This dramatically decreased my overhead, all the while dramatically increasing my flexibility and market area. While I once waited for clients to come to me, I now can meet them anywhere... in their homes, in a field, in the water, in a forest, or even in an old abandoned building that we rented for the day. This frees up the creative process and allows for more dramatic, fun or expressive portraits.
As of January 1, 2013, my fees have increase slightly. They are as follows:
Children's Portraits/ "shadowing"
$150/hour with up to 12 children. Shadowing is a photojournalism
technique in which I follow your child/children/family around as they
naturally interact with each other and examine the world around them -
all while photographing them with natural facial expressions that are
genuine to each individual. These photos can be in color, but most
people seems to appreciate them more in black and white. There will be some posed, if you like, and I bring props to play with! Guaranteed 12 edited digital prints.
Senior Portraits $150/ hour with unlimited outfit changes. A 1-hour session is definitely feasible.
Guaranteed 6 edited digital prints.
Portrait Photography $150/ hour with unlimited outfit changes. A 1-hour session is definitely feasible.
Guaranteed 6 edited digital prints. (Pet photography included in this session)
Family Portraiture $150/hour with up to 6 individuals. $175/hour for a group of 7-12. $200/hour for a group of 13+. Photos can be shadowed and/or posed. Guaranteed 6 edited digital prints.
Event Photography $150/hour with a minimum of 2 hours booked if within Athens County. 4 hours minimum if within 30 miles of Athens, Ohio and 6 hours minimum if event is beyond 30 miles of Athens, Ohio. Client will receive at least 30 photographs per hour (some edited, and others in unedited, candid form - depending upon the photograph.) Client will receive a copy of all usable photographs of the event taken by Mz Terri Jean.
Engagement/ Couple Photography - $150 unless you have booked me as your photographer. In that case, your engagement session would be $75. Depending on the photoshoot, props are usually encourage or provided.
Wedding Photography $150 per hour with a minimum of 4 hours booked if within 30 minutes from the city of Athens, Ohio. 8 hours minimum if further than 30 miles from Athens, Ohio. $200/hour if location is more than 90 miles from Athens, Ohio with a minimum of 8 hours booked. Client guaranteed a minimum of 50 photos per hour - posed and candid. Client will receive a copy of all usable photographs of the event taken by Mz Terri Jean.

Considering the costs of prints today (in Athens County a 4x6 can run you as much as $10 or more, and an 11x14 $50!) my flat-fee system is a definite way to get more bang for your buck!
